At AVI. Technique, we believe movement is a form of meditation. Our practice is a fusion of somatic awareness and barre-informed technique, designed to restore your body’s natural rhythm without the pressure of high-intensity fitness culture.
By honoring the joint-friendly nature of our approach, we create a space where every body belongs. Whether you are recovering from injury or simply seeking a more sustainable relationship with your physical self, we provide the grounded support you need to find your calm in motion.

Hazel Avila is an IBBFA Barre-certified instructor and dance artist dedicated to making movement accessible to all. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Multimedia Performing Arts with a concentration in dance and a minor in mind-body wellness. She has expanded her training through an independent study program at Broadway Dance Center. Her studies include ballet, contemporary/modern, somatic practices, and diasporic techniques.
She blends a dancer's artistry with a holistic, embodied approach, creating classes where clients feel creative, strong, balanced, and truly seen.
Her teaching is informed by research in holistic and embodied movement. She has led movement-exploration sessions that merge fitness, dance, and mindfulness, helping students reconnect with their bodies and move with intention. Her philosophy weaves together breath, somatic awareness, and community so that each session goes beyond the barre and into everyday life.
Whether you're brand new to fitness or a seasoned mover, Hazel meets you exactly where you are.
